How can I edit my VTT file (subtitling)?

If you have created a subtitle file (vtt file), we recommend that you manually correct it again after creation, as depending on the audio quality automatic speech recognition is prone to errors during transcription. For detailed instructions on how to create a subtitle, see this article.

To edit your vtt file, click Events in the left main menu, select your event from the list, and then click Files.

Select your video into which you want to create or edit a subtitle from the section Media.

One click will take you to the overview of your recording or video file.

Scroll down to the section Subtitles.

If you have created subtitles, you can download them by clicking on the download icon to the right of the file.

PLEASE NOTE: You can delete the subtitles by clicking on the trash bin icon.

You will now receive a vtt file that you can open with a simple text editor software.

You can easily edit and correct the transcription of your subtitling.

ATTENTION: Please edit ONLY the transcriptions (outlined in red) and do NOT change ANYTHING about the numbering or the time stamps (outlined in blue)! These are important for proper subtitling and should not be changed.

Once you have finished editing and saving your file, select the correct language in which the subtitle file was created in SlideSync, click Choose File, select your finished edited vtt file, and click Open.

Once you click Upload subtitle, the new subtitle will be added to the video file.
