How can I use the chat?

You have created an event and want to communicate with your team members online quick and easy. You can use the chat function on SlideSync, which is available in every event.

As soon as you have created an event, a chat icon appears in the upper right corner of all pages on SlideSync that are assigned to the event.

Click on the icon and a chat window will appear on the right side. You can chat directly with your team members assigned to the same event.

Enter your message into the input field at the bottom and you can send it either by pressing the Enter key or by clicking the right check mark.

There are three icons at the top right:

Use the icon on the left to switch to the full screen view.

Use the icon in the middle to (de)activate the push notification for incoming chat messages. If you have activated this, you will receive a push notification at the bottom right of your main screen.


PLEASE NOTE: If the icon is yellow and crossed out, the notifications for the page are blocked. You must activate them in your browser settings:

Google Chrome

To activate notifications in Google Chrome, click on the lock symbol at the top left of the address bar.

Activate the toggle for notifications.


Mozilla Firefox

When activating push notifications, Mozilla Firefox asks you via a pop-up window whether you want to allow SlideSync to send notifications. Click on Allow.


All chat messages are saved in the event and can be accessed from any event page (Event Settings, Live Producer, Edit Layout, etc.) at any time.
