Accessible Core Offering

Accessible Core Offering

The accessible core offering ensures that all participants can access the same information and features, whether they are joining a live event, registering optionally or watching content On Demand. Every widget is built with accessibility in mind, though some may need a bit of extra setup to work fully.

You can find more details in the related article What do I need to consider as an organizer regarding accessibility?”.

What is included in the accessible core offering?

Clear structure:
The content follows a clear hierarchy with well-structured headings, making it easy to follow. Screen readers can move through the sections smoothly without skipping anything. Invisible headings and landmarks provide additional orientation and help users navigate efficiently.

Keyboard control:
All widgets can be fully used with just the keyboard, no mouse required.

Language:
The system automatically recognizes the set language, so screen readers can pronounce the content correctly.

Responsive layout:
The layout adjusts automatically to any device, whether you’re using a smartphone, tablet, or large screen. Even with zoom or on smaller displays, all information remains visible.

Color and contrast design:

All colors and contrasts follow established accessibility standards. Media and forms are provided with suitable alternatives and clear guidance:

  • Images include alternative text
  • Videos come with subtitles (which can be generated and translated automatically)
  • Presentations are available as structured, accessible text
  • Diagrams are supported with supplementary tables

Forms show detailed error messages, screen readers repeat them with each new attempt, so corrections are easy to make.

Accessibility in individual modules

Registration
No extra steps are needed. Entry fields and processes are accessible right from the start.

Broadcast
Visual and media elements are designed to be clear and accessible. Logos and banners either include descriptive alternative text or are marked as decorative. Time stamps are shown in a format that screen readers can read aloud easily. Videos can include automatically generated subtitles, which can also be translated if needed. When slides change, screen readers announce it, and all content is additionally available as structured text.

Questions & Answers (Q&A)
New questions and likes are announced right away. The question list is organized in an accessible structure, and screen readers receive a clear signal whenever the page changes.

Polls
Screen readers are kept up to date with all dynamic content. Word clouds are shown at the same time in an accessible table format, making them easy to follow.

Descriptions
You can use headings, paragraphs, lists, or tables in the editor to give your content a clear structure. Images, such as logos, can either include alternative text or be marked as decorative.

On Demand
Content remains fully accessible after the live event, with no extra limitations.

By following these accessibility standards, you ensure that all participants can use the platform effectively, no matter how they join or which device they use. A consistent structure, clear navigation, and meaningful alternatives for media make it easier for everyone to access information and interact without barriers.
