Another special feature of SlideSync is the automatic creation of subtitles to your recordings. You can have an automatic transcription created to the video in all available languages, which will then be added as subtitles to your recording or video. This can only be created in the language in which the video was recorded. A translated subtitle can be added, but has to be created manually.
To create a subtitle, click Events in the left main menu, select your event from the list, and then click Files.
Select your video into which you want to create a subtitle from the section Media.
One click will take you to the overview of your recording or video file.
Scroll down to the section Subtitles (1).
Depending on the language in which the event was created, you can now have a transcription created in that language. To do so, click on Transcribe (2). PLEASE NOTE: The creation can take several minutes depending on the video size!
Once the subtitle file (vtt-file) has been created, it will be displayed in the list (3). By default, it is saved as subtitle.vtt. You can now download or delete it.
You have now created a subtitle for your video file in the same language.
In the video view, you can click on the subtitle icon at the bottom right and activate them by selecting the respective language.
PLEASE NOTE: The automatic transcription is prone to errors in the language recognition! We recommend downloading the VTT file and editing it manually. Detailed instructions on how to edit a VTT file can be found in this article.
